Hire a Vet
One of the best ways for veterans to resume lives as civilians is to become employed and to have the support of people who understand their situation.
Some veterans are derailed by their military service and have difficulty returning to civilian life. Swords to Plowshares helps veterans regain their personal stability by getting them the help they need and by coaching them every step of the way.
Veterans seeking employment will meet with a Job Developer and an Employment Training Specialist. We help them obtain training, work clothes, tools, transportation and housing — everything to make them job-ready.
We pre-screen veterans to make sure they are ready to work. We offer computer training classes, resume development and job search counseling. By the time they start their job search, they know what they’re looking for, have their resumes prepared, their clothes clean and pressed, and we work together to set up job interviews.
The next step - hiring the veteran - is up to you, the employer.

How to hire a vet
Call Swords to Plowshares and ask to speak to a job developer. Let us know what job you need filled, and we will review our database of eligible applicants and provide the resumes of qualified vets. You can then interview the applicants, and if you decide to hire one of our vets, let us know the details of the job placement. We will keep in contact with the vet while he/she is on the job to make sure he/she has everything needed to be a star employee. We also make ourselves available to you in whatever capacity you need us.
