Dianne – the daughter of a U.S. Marine who served in two wars, WWII on Okinawa and the Korean War – grew up with a penchant for veterans in general. She was raised in La Jolla, California and married U.S. Marine Captain, Jon W. Paulson, in 1967 after his return from service in Vietnam. Dianne started her own import-export business in 1974 in Boston, recently closed, and wrote a column for the Harvard Business School magazine in the late '80s. After 50 years together, Jon passed away at the San Francisco VA in 2016. Dianne has supported Swords to Plowshares and veterans’ issues for decades, and she continues to offer insight and assistance when needed. She is also a benefactor of the Marines’ Memorial Club, attending numerous events there as well as Old Guard historical talks. She lives in San Francisco with her two Siamese cats, Frankie and Winnie. Dianne is honored to promote and advocate for Swords to Plowshares and looks forward to helping San Francisco, the city she loves, improve and flourish.
