Dottie works in People Operations & Growth at Bloom Works, a woman-owned public benefit company. While in the Army National Guard, Dottie served as a guard in a detainment camp in Iraq in 2003. Dottie is active in the veteran community; she has previously served as a Peer Mentor with the Wounded Warrior Project and the Alameda County Veterans Treatment Court. Dottie was appointed to the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Commission from 2011 to 2017 and sat on the Department of Veterans Affairs' Advisory Committee on Veteran Homelessness. She currently also serves on the Board of Directors for Minority Veterans of America.
