In her role at Swords to Plowshares, Ma'at oversees all residential and non-residential clinical programs across the agency. She is a dedicated advocate for mental health, equity, and education, with extensive experience working with diverse populations in public mental health. She previously served as an administrator for Telecare ICT East Bay programs, managing operations, fiscal oversight, and professional development in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Earlier, she helped launch mobile crisis teams in northern San Diego with New Alternatives, focusing on integrating behavioral health care systems to address mental health disparities in underserved communities. Ma'at has collaborated with various agencies, including law enforcement, hospitals, and crisis teams, to improve care coordination and meet accreditation standards. She holds a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from UC Berkeley.
